The owners of this gracious home came to me with the idea of creating a master bedroom suite by converting the closet into a master bathroom. I worked with the construction contractors to make this happen. I suggested raising the ceiling height to increase the feeling of space in an otherwise small area. I was able to recreate the luxury feel of the high-end hotels that the owners frequent by selecting Carrera marble and frameless glass to create a sophisticated and elegant master bathroom. For the powder room, I referred to the home’s Tudor style by selecting a hand block-printed wallpaper from the British home furnishings manufacturer, William Morris. I had a stone floor installed in the powder room which feels and looks like an original part of the house. I also worked with a cabinet maker to custom design the marble-topped bathroom vanity in pickled oak. The combination of all of these elements in a room with small proportions makes for a unique and dramatic space. I also helped update the living and dining rooms by selecting interesting and vibrant wall colors and wallpaper.
